Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
The California Tahoe Conservancy will reduce hazardous fuels on at least 950 acres and not more than 1,250 acres of the highest priority areas, focusing on the defense zone of the Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) on the California side of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

The three focus areas are split into geographic regions: north, west, and south. These areas are composed of Conservancy-owned large (greater than 1 acre) parcels adjacent to communities (see maps).

The treatments are designed to reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfire, protect life and property, and improve forest health. This will result in forests that are more resilient to the effects of climate change.

The Conservancy elects to use the 10 MTDC de minimus rate duplication of effort statement. This project is not an overlap with funding from another federal agency.
