Overview
Grant Description
Application purpose: To purchase 14 hybrid electric buses to replace older diesel buses that have exceeded their useful life;
Activities performed: Purchase of 14 hybrid electric buses;
Expected outcomes: Continuation of TANK operating and maintaining a modern fuel efficient safe and comfortable revenue fleet in two modes - Fixed Route Transit (FRT).
These new revenue vehicles will replace existing vehicles in TANK's operating fleet having exceeded their federally-defined useful life.
By replacing older buses with newer and more fuel-efficient ones, TANK will reduce fleet emissions.
Additionally, new buses offer increased passenger comfort, safety, and security as well as less chance of a breakdown due to increased reliability.;
Intended beneficiaries: TANK's riders will enjoy new replacements to the revenue fleet.
All riders will benefit from properly maintained buses.;
Subrecipient activities: None.

Funding Goals
THE LOW OR NO EMISSION COMPETITIVE PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OR LEASE OF ZERO-EMISSION AND LOW-EMISSION TRANSIT BUSES AS WELL AS ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND LEASING OF REQUIRED SUPPORTING FACILITIES.
