Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to modernize the CTA.
Activities performed: Funds will be used to retrofit and/or rebuild stations, install full barrier doors on CTA buses, design and engineer the modernization of CTA bus garages, design the reconstruction process of CTA stations, and conduct facility assessments.
Expected outcomes: Funding will permit the modernization of the CTA by improving the safety of CTA employees and riders, making stations vertically accessible, and gathering necessary asset condition information.
Intended beneficiaries: CTA and the riders that rely on its service will benefit from continued services.
