Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this award is to fund the procurement of ten (10) 40-foot diesel-electric hybrid replacement buses for the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) and related training for MTD employees.

Activities performed: The activities to be performed include issuing a purchase order to procure ten (10) 40-foot diesel-electric hybrid buses, completing the bus build, testing and accepting the buses, deploying the buses into revenue service, issuing a purchase order for training, and receiving training on bus operations and maintenance for MTD employees.

Expected outcomes: The expected outcome of this project is for MTD to continue to provide transit services for the community and support workforce development.

Intended beneficiaries: The intended beneficiaries of the project are passengers and community members who will have access to newer buses and MTD employees who will receive training on bus maintenance.

Funding Goals
THE LOW OR NO EMISSION COMPETITIVE PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OR LEASE OF ZERO-EMISSION AND LOW-EMISSION TRANSIT BUSES AS WELL AS ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND LEASING OF REQUIRED SUPPORTING FACILITIES.
