Grant Description
Application purpose: The purpose of this grant is to fund the expansion of MDOT's commuter fleet with buses, microtransit fleet with vans, and workforce development construction and construction management for the Lihue Base Yard Expansion Project for CKTA.

And construction of American with Disability Act (ADA) compliant bus shelters and bus stops for HMTA.

Activities performed: Purchase of buses, vans, and workforce development for Maui Department of Transportation (MDOT).

ADA improvements to bus stops and shelter for Hawaii Mass Transit Agency (HMTA).

Construction and construction management for the Lihue Base Yard Improvement Project for County of Kauai Transit Agency (CKTA).

Expected outcomes: Improved reliability of transit services.

Compliance with Americans with Disability Act requirements for bus shelters and stops.

Intended beneficiaries: The public using the transit services of the County of Hawaii, County of Kauai, and County of Maui public transit agencies.
