Grant Description
Application Purpose: This award will assist the City and County of Honolulu to maintain safe and reliable transit services with the procurement of replacement vehicles for vehicles beyond their useful life and meet its goal of shifting towards a zero emission fleet.
Activities Performed: Activities to be performed include the purchase of replacement vehicles, design, purchase, and construction of on-route chargers and charging infrastructure.
Expected Outcomes: Anticipate the purchase of new vehicles and the replacement of aging vehicles with zero emission battery electric buses, which lowers greenhouse gas emissions and reduces Honolulu's climate change impact. This is consistent with the City and County of Honolulu's commitment to sustainable transportation and the environment through the purchase of zero-emission electric buses.
Intended Beneficiaries: The residents of and visitors to the island of Oahu will benefit from accessible, reliable, and safe transit services and fewer emissions.
Subrecipient Activities: DTS does not intend to sub-award funds.
