Purpose:
This application utilizes Section 5311 Rural Formula funds to support the county transit agencies that serve rural areas within the state of Hawaii.
Activities to be performed:
Operating assistance will be provided to the county transit agencies for them to continue providing service to rural areas of Hawaii. Subrecipient activities:
The county transit agencies will receive operating assistance to continue providing service to rural areas of Hawaii throughout the period of performance. HMTA also plans to use funding from this grant to carry out project administrative mobility management and preventive maintenance activities.
Additional notes:
1) Intercity bus service needs are adequately met (refer to paragraph regarding the archipelagic make-up of Hawaii on the letter signed by Gov. David Ige attached in TRAMS).
2) Pre-award authority was requested for HMTA to begin their activities from 07/01/2022.
