Grant Description
Nord Center CCBHC Expansion - The Nord Center’s project will increase access to and improve the quality of community mental health and substance use disorder treatment in Lorain County, Ohio. The project will result in greater capacity to serve underserved populations, improved access to behavioral healthcare, enhancements to the county's crisis response, and better health outcomes for clients via the integration of primary and behavioral healthcare.
Activities include:
- Opening three new service locations
- Increasing the behavioral health workforce
- Implementing a 14-bed behavioral health/SUD crisis stabilization unit
- Developing the capacity to provide integrated care to clients with complex behavioral health, SUD, and physical health needs.
The goals of the project are to positively impact the lives of those facing health disparities by increasing access to comprehensive behavioral health services, implementing a continuum of crisis services for adults, adolescents, and children, and increasing the number of clients engaged and retained in receiving evidence-based behavioral health, SUD, and physical health services that promote wellness and recovery.
The Nord Center's certified community behavioral health clinic expects to serve a minimum of 8,800 clients per year.
