Grant Description
Application Purpose: Operate and maintain a program to conduct research related to zero emission transit bus development and commercialization for the purpose of advancing the zero emission bus industry.
Activities performed: CTE will administer the TVIDC program in accordance with the following tasks:
1. Biannual stakeholder focus group
2. Gate review research project development
3. FTA prioritization and approval of gate review projects

Expected outcomes: The TVIDC program will deliver research products and tools to educate and inform future actions for the transit industry allowing stakeholders to effectively deploy zero-emission technology. These developments will help to reduce pollution and increase air quality for transit customers and the nation at large.

Intended beneficiaries: The TVIDC program will provide transit agencies, research institutions, transit vehicle manufacturers and suppliers, utility providers, workforce development organizations, and other transit stakeholders with detailed research focused on accelerating adoption of zero-emission vehicles and technologies for public transportation. The program aims to develop a better understanding of opportunities, barriers, and risks for transit stakeholders and propose best practices for effectively contending with these issues.

Subrecipient activities: Subrecipients will participate in a variety of activities contributing to individual research scopes in the program.
