Grant Description
Application Purpose:
The purpose of this award is to provide the state of Georgia and its sub-recipients funding for operating assistance, eligible capital projects, and the Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) for the state and its sub-recipients. Additionally, the award provides funding for the state of Georgia's Intercity Bus Program (ICB).

Activities Performed:
Section 5311 resources will be used to fund capital, operating, and administrative expenses for the rural public transit systems which provide transportation services to 114 counties in the state of Georgia. Section 5311 RTAP resources will be used to fund training for staff and sub-recipients on FTA compliance guidelines, as well as managing transit-related projects. 5311(F) Intercity Bus Program resources will be used to fund eligible ICB projects currently under review. 5339 resources will be used to fund replacement and expansion vehicles for sub-recipients operating rural transit systems.

Expected Outcomes:
Continued safe and effective operation of transit services for rural and ICB in Georgia.

Intended Beneficiaries:
Transit agencies, ICB operators, and transit riders in the state of Georgia.

Subrecipient Activities:
Funding for operations, administrative, and capital projects will be received by the agencies in the SFY 2024 Program of Projects (POP) uploaded to this application, as well as the ICB operators awarded funding from the Call for Projects application review. Sub-recipient activities are outlined in the project's milestones.
