Grant Description
Project Title: Temple University Ambler Campus
United States Geological Survey
Project Period: 9/1/2025 through 8/31/2030
Award Purpose: To support a shared-use agreement providing temporary physical space and infrastructure for the Pennsylvania Water Science Center of the United States Geological Survey at Temple University's Ambler Campus.
This partnership will enhance the agency's ability to conduct water resource monitoring and environmental research operations in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Activities to be Performed: Provide exclusive office and preparation space in Widener Hall.
Offer shared laboratory bench and equipment access in Dixon Hall.
Install electrical outlets and internal wiring to support workspace needs.
Facilitate independent network setup with a commercial internet provider.
Provide secured outdoor storage containers for equipment.
Grant 24/7 access and parking for federal field staff and vehicles.
Coordinate chemical safety compliance and disposal.
Ensure all activities follow Temple University laboratory policies.
Deliverables and Expected Outcomes: Fully operational field office and lab prep space available by August 1, 2025.
Safe, functional, and collaborative working environment for federal personnel.
Completion of office space enhancements to support active scientific operations.
Strengthened operational capacity for environmental and water resource research in the region.
Intended Beneficiaries: United States Geological Survey staff and research programs.
Temple University as a host institution and collaborating partner.
