Grant Description
Project Title: Support of Facilities at the USF/USGS St. Petersburg Science Center
Period of Performance: 8/1/2022 through 7/31/2027
This cooperative agreement provides a means to continue and enhance facilities supporting the collaborative research with the recipient to further mutual scientific research mission of the USGS and the recipient in the public interest.
The recipient provides the USGS with space on the University of South Florida which allows for collaborative research within the specific areas of coastal, marine, and environmental science. The research and data collection resulting from this award will be used to increase understanding and enhance baseline data in coastal systems and their natural variability, aid in predicting future coastal erosion, investigate the fate of wetlands, health of the coral reefs, determine the location of where polluted sediments accumulate, and locate economically valuable mineral resources.
