Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
ABCD Title X Family Planning Project - In this proposal, Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD), and its clinical partners, outline a longstanding, proven approach to meeting the needs and addressing disparate access of low-income populations in Greater Boston, Central, North, South, and Western MA.
This proposal also highlights new initiatives to extend services to members of exceptionally high-need groups, including sex workers and individuals with substance use disorder.
In the combined areas served by this proposal, an estimated 359,770 women are in need of public support for contraceptive services and supplies, and only 90,830 access the services. Therefore, only 25% of those in need of the service receive it.
ABCD proposes to reach 27,550 unduplicated clients through the efforts of its network, of whom approximately 8,800 will be adolescents. This represents a net expansion of 51% in persons who will have access to comprehensive family planning services.
