Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide the Palm Bay Melbourne UZA and its subrecipients operating assistance and capital funding to provide transportation services for people with disabilities and elder adults.

Activities Performed: Funds will be used to cover eligible operating expenses such as driver salaries, fuel, items having a useful life of less than one year, and preventive maintenance in order to continue service for people with disabilities and older adults. Capital funds will be used to purchase bus replacements. In addition, a subrecipient will use funding to purchase shop equipment (PC computers).

Expected Outcomes: Funding will permit Florida Department of Transportation and its subrecipients to continue to provide service for people with disabilities and older adults.

Intended Beneficiaries: People with disabilities and older adults in the states Palm Bay Melbourne area.

Subrecipient Activities: The following subrecipients will receive operating assistance to maintain services: Brevard Achievement Center, Brevard Alzheimers Foundation, and Space Coast Center for Independent Living d/b/a Resource Center for Disability Solutions. The following subrecipient will receive preventative maintenance: Brevard Alzheimers Foundation. The following subrecipient will receive shop equipment: Brevard Alzheimers Foundation. The following subrecipient will receive bus replacements: Brevard County Board of County Commissioners d/b/a Space Coast Area Transit.
