Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide funds for various projects that include rail yard improvements; preventative maintenance; planning consultants; video surveillance and data network; pedestrian bridges; pedestrian crossings; heavy station maintenance; elevator rehabilitation; and capital cost of contracting for SFRTAS commuter connection shuttle service.
Activities Performed: Funds will be used to cover all eligible fixed guideway elements, stations, stops, and terminals professional services, as well as sitework. In addition, funds will cover all eligible preventive maintenance.
Expected Outcomes: Funding will permit SFRTA to meet preventative maintenance standards, continue to provide a safe and reliable operation, and keep its stations and rolling stock vehicles in a state of good repair.
Intended Beneficiaries: SFRTA and its riders that rely on its services will benefit from continued services, permitting passengers to get to work and other destinations.
