Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose of this award is to provide 1 year of preventive maintenance, 1 year of operating assistance, and 1 year of ADA paratransit services. The reconstruction of the agency's operations and maintenance facility, including the vehicular and pedestrian gates; bus shelter rehabilitation; and the preparation of a zero-emissions transition plan to assist the fixed route transit operations during the period of 10/01/2021 to 3/30/2026.
Activities Performed: Funds will be used to cover all eligible preventive maintenance and operating expenses, such as the operation contract expenses and fuel. The hiring of a 3rd party vendor to develop a zero-emissions transition plan. Contribute towards the reconstruction of a new transit operations and maintenance facility. The purchase and installation of a replacement vehicular and pedestrian gates that have met their useful life and the rehabilitation of bus shelters.
Expected Outcomes: Funding will permit Collier County to meet preventive maintenance standards, continue to provide operations, and comply with its transit asset management (TAM) plan by extending the life of bus shelters, replacing its operations and maintenance facility that has exceeded useful life, improving safety and security of assets and facility with the replacement gates, and set a plan for the transition to sustainable bus operation for the agency.
