Grant Description
This application is to request Section 5305(D) and 5305(E) funds apportioned to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the amount of $20,515,325. The breakdown of this amount by FFY apportionment is as follows:
FFY19:
- 5305(D) $8,243,580
- 5305(E) $1,682,868
FFY20:
- 5305(D) $8,870,332
- 5305(E) $1,718,545
Purpose:
The purpose of this award is to provide 2 years of funding for planning initiatives for Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) across the state of Florida.
Activities to be performed:
Funds will be used to cover transit planning activities, including TIP/STIP/UPWP development, transit studies, and long-range plan updates.
Expected outcomes:
Funding will ensure Florida transit agencies meet applicable planning requirements and future projects are appropriately programmed into local MPO documents.
Intended beneficiaries:
MPOs and transit agencies across the state of Florida.
Subrecipient activities:
- Program support administration
- General development/comprehension planning system and project level
- Long-term transit planning
- Short-range transit planning
- Transportation improvement program coordination
- Non-emergency human service transportation coordination
- Participation of transit operators in metro and statewide planning
- Planning for transit system management/operations to increase ridership
- Support transit capital investment decisions through effective system planning
- Incorporating safety and security in transportation planning
- State planning and research
- Metropolitan planning
