Grant Description
Purpose:
This multi-source grant (or super grant) consists of funding apportionments from the FY 2021 Formula Grants - S. 5307 for capital and planning, S. 5337 for state of good repair, and S. 5339 for bus and bus facilities designated for the Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Each formula grant is included in this multi-source grant as a project.
Activities to be Performed:
Funding under S. 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Grant (Project 1). The S. 5307 Urbanized Area Formula Grant will fund the following activities:
- Church Street Guard House update (renovation and rehab)
- Entrance gate and motor for the pedestrian employee entrance
- CNG bus purchases and associated training/inspections
- CTC replacement vehicles
- CTC expansion vehicles
- Automatic vehicle monitoring system (hardware and associated technology)
- Safety and security access control upgrades
- Panels and card readers for JTA facilities
- Bus stop site improvements
- Site work installation and solar lighting
- Integration of ERP for time and attendance
- Revenue equipment enhancements and upgrades
- Oil water separator system for surface parking lots
- IT hardware
- ERP enterprise asset management module (EAM) optimization
- Security camera and support equipment for the Kings Avenue Garage
- Park and ride canopy for the JRTC at LaVilla
- Skyway station skyway train parts
- Skyway control room equipment
- Skyway propulsion motors and aux and propulsion inverters
- Print shop copier DVR upgrades for rolling stock
- Dual-purpose inverter module and energy storage system batteries for hybrid buses
- Gantry chain system for the passenger ferry
- Real-time passenger information system
- Escalator rehab and renovation at the Kings Avenue Skyway Station
- ERP HR optimization support
- Fall protection equipment associated with the hybrid buses for the electric shop
- UPWP planning tasks
- Rehabilitation and renovation (modernization) of skyway escalator at the Kings Avenue Station
- Cybersecurity disaster recovery and multi-factor authentication hardware and software for bus transit operations
- CTC Connexion paratransit services and skyway operations
The FY 2021 S. 5307 apportionment is $14,445,566. The JTA local cash match for UPWP is $320,000. Authorized use of toll revenue credits in the amount of $3,291,392.
Funding under S. 5337 Urbanized Area Formula Grant (Project 2) will fund the following activities:
- Propulsion motors
- Aux propulsion inverters
- Shop equipment like scrubbers
- Wireless lifts
- Train wash equipment
- Forklifts
- A 2-bay 2-story prefabricated building for extended storage
The FY 2021 S. 5337 apportionment is $740,870. Authorized use of toll revenue credits in the amount of $185,218.
Funding under S. 5339 Urbanized Area Formula Grant (Project 3) will purchase two and 3/5th 35-foot CNG buses ($604,062 each) to replace 3 buses diesel buses that have met or exceeded their useful life.
The FY 2021 S. 5339 apportionment is $1,575,034. Authorized use of toll revenue credits in the amount of $393,759.
