This grant is for FFY18 Section 5339 allocation of funds awarded to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). The grant is for $3,500,000 for the non-urban areas (under 50,000 in population). The remaining $3,459,530 for the small urban areas (50,000 to 199,999 in population) has been applied for directly by the recipients as noted in the attached split letter dated September 14, 2018.

The program of projects for this grant has been uploaded in the grant application documents section. The application is for the following:

Two (2) replacement 30 buses (ALI 11.12.03) for a total FTA amount of $485,853.
Twenty-two (22) replacement 30 buses (ALI 11.12.04) for a total FTA amount of $1,845,917.
Ten (10) replacement vans (ALI 11.12.15) for a total FTA amount of $452,876.
Three (3) expansion 30 buses (ALI 11.13.04) for a total FTA amount of $260,240.
Two (2) shop equipment (ALI 11.42.06) for a total FTA amount of $77,275.
Nineteen (19) surveillance/security equipment (ALI 11.42.09) for a total FTA amount of $324,711.

Of the thirty-six (36) vehicles to be purchased, thirty-three (33) of the vehicles are to replace current vehicles with vans and buses. Both replacement and expansion vehicles will provide greater safety for passengers, have better gas mileage, as well as improved internal mechanics to minimize maintenance and service requirements.

The capital costs are spread among nineteen (19) subrecipients. The total capital commitment is $3,500,000, thus leaving an unobligated balance of the FFY18 Section 5339 allocation of $0.

The state match is a Transportation Development Credit (TDC) match in the amount of $875,000.

The FDOT certifies that all grants were selected among all human service providers in the local area within each district. The FDOT certifies that the goals and objectives set to identify the projects derived from the Human Services Coordination Plan. The FDOT certifies that all the vehicles purchased shall be ADA compliant. This application does not include funds for research and/or development activities.
