Overview
Grant Description
Created by Congress in 1984, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), serves as the official foundation for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS).
NFWF is pleased to continue our partnership with FWS to support NFWF-USFWS Conservation Partnership 2024.
Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 FWS funds in the amount of $5.29M are requested by NFWF which will be matched at a minimum of 1:1 with non-federal cash and in-kind contributions to support conservation programs that meet the mutual missions to further the conservation and management of fish, wildlife, plants, and other natural resources (P.L. 98-244).
NFWF runs several competitive sub-award programs.
These funds will be sub-awarded through the competitive programs.
All of the funding is directed to on-the-ground conservation and no funds are used to support NFWF's administrative costs.
NFWF is the nation's largest private conservation grant-maker supporting more than 22,000 projects in all 50 states and generating a total conservation impact of more than $10 billion.
NFWF is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led by a board of directors approved by the Secretary of Interior.
The FY 2024 FWS funds received through this partnership will support several conservation programs.
