Overview

Grant Description
To work with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Southeast Region to fund projects to restore, enhance, and conserve national wildlife refuges and/or state wildlife management areas by increasing the resiliency of habitats and infrastructure which are directly benefiting wildlife refuges and state wildlife management areas.

The benefits should increase the ability of aforementioned public lands to withstand severe weather events driven by climate change through nature-based solutions within the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee).

Projects must have one or more of the following components in the proposal: climate adaptation, resilience, mitigation benefits measure outcomes for ecological and underserved communities, waterfowl conservation, at-risk listed species (federally listed species) conservation, and/or invasive species control.

These projects selected will be reviewed competitively by NFWF in consultation with the USFWS before awarded funding from this agreement.
Funding Goals
INCREASE THE RESILIENCY AND CAPACITY OF HABITATS AND INFRASTRUCTURE TO WITHSTAND WEATHER EVENTS. REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE CAUSED BY WEATHER EVENTS ON HABITATS AND INFRASTRUCTURE.
