Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) and subrecipients will conduct invasive carp management and control efforts utilizing funding associated with this project.
Populations will be sampled to better understand invasive carp distribution in the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers and the Lower Mississippi River.
Efforts to remove invasive carp and control populations will be supported via incentives to commercial fisheries.
Invasive carp will be tagged to better understand the level of harvest occurring and the movement patterns they exhibit.
We anticipate the data and information collected via these efforts will improve our understanding of carp populations and strengthen our management of invasive carp, which will provide benefit to Tennesseans and others throughout the Mississippi River Basin.
