Overview
Grant Description
The Santa Clara Valley Habitat Conservation Plan Natural Community Conservation Plan (Habitat Plan or Plan) covers 519,506 acres of urban, rural, and natural lands in Santa Clara County, California.
The project purpose is to support the Habitat Agency in acquiring up to 2,925 acres of land for the conservation and recovery of 18 species covered by the Plan. These species include 3 federally threatened, 6 federally endangered, and one species proposed for federal listing.
Once acquired, a conservation easement will be placed on the lands to ensure permanent protection. These lands will be managed for the benefit of covered species and the enhancement of natural communities.
