Overview
Grant Description
The service will provide funds in support of partnership with DU for technical assistance in implementation of wetland and grassland enhancement and restoration projects in the PPR of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana.
Enhancement and restoration activities will occur on WPA, conservation easements, refuges, and state wildlife management areas within that geographic area.
The service will provide specific guidelines for each project and DU will support project implementation through technical support and on-the-ground restoration work.
Collectively, these projects are intended to restore and improve critically important breeding areas for grassland birds, waterfowl, pollinators, and threatened and endangered species.
Additionally, enhancement and restoration efforts will provide sustainable properties including societal benefits of flood resilience, water quality improvement, and carbon sequestration.
