Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of the grant program is to support the IFAB Tech Hub in increasing the demonstration scale capacity of precision fermentation.

This includes completing the front end loading (FEL) process to refine business cases, technical scopes, and design requirements, developing basic and detailed engineering designs, securing necessary construction permits, and installing process equipment such as piping, and instrumentation to ensure process functionality.

Activities to be performed:
1. Complete the phase deliverables, validate the phase documents, and obtain peer review and approval for FEL2, FEL3, and FEL4.

2. Prepare equipment lists, issued for construction (IFC) drawings, and requests for proposals (RFPs) for project management, equipment, and instrumentation.

3. Obtain all required permits.

4. Develop final "as-built" documents and conduct hazard and operability study (HAZOP).

5. Install site infrastructure, structural steel, tanks, downstream processing equipment, piping, and instrumentation.

6. Ensure the successful running of the process.

Expected outcomes: Complete the front end loading (FEL) phases to finalize engineering designs and approvals.

All necessary permits are secured.

Complete the installation and commissioning of process equipment.

Ensure the operational functionality of the precision fermentation technology.

Intended beneficiaries: Intended beneficiaries include IFAB Tech Hub and its stakeholders, including the ADM CAPEX Center of Excellence and the broader industry involved in precision fermentation.

The advancements and successful implementation of the project will benefit organizations seeking to enhance fermentation technologies and improve industrial processes.
