Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This investment is part of South Carolina's SC Nexus for Advanced Resilient Energy Tech Hubs.
This project upgrades Clemson's existing shared-use grid emulation facility (E-GRID) to accelerate the maturation and deployment of distributed energy resources and other smart grid technologies through life cycle and compliance testing in real-life conditions.
Clemson will also develop new optimization techniques, control algorithms, safety protocols, and micro-grid management strategies for a cybersecure and reliable grid and create new hands-on training and workforce development opportunities that address grid integration challenges.
