Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
This EDA investment funds fortification an existing six-million-gallon fuel tank farm at the Port of Nome in Alaska.
The frozen soil beneath the fuel tanks is beginning to melt during the summer months.
This could cause the tanks to shift, thus threatening their structural integrity.
Thermosyphon will be installed under fuel tanks 1, 2, 3, 6, and 7, to combat seasonal thaw and maintain a stable temperature underneath the fuel tanks.
The project is expected to retain over 800 jobs and spur $5 million in private investment.
