Overview

Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to attract, build, and retain the workforce critical to the success of the Regen Valley Tech Hub.

The grant will enable Regen Valley Tech Hub to coordinate programming, credit share, and share of physical/intellectual resources among participating workforce development institutions.

Participating institutions will work jointly to strengthen and develop industry-informed programming.

Moreover, the grant will enhance high school recruiting pipelines and prepare academic partners' career offices to counsel students on biofabrication training, academic pathways, and careers.

Finally, the grant will develop training opportunities to develop the biofabrication workforce.

Activities to be performed:

1) Establish Regen Valley Common Campus (RVCC) structure and resources to establish formal collaboration processes between participating institutions.

Participating institutions will coordinate to address curricular gaps at each education level for job-ready positions.

2) Engage the regional talent pipeline by creating a "digital front door" and recruiting platform that enables communication with both employers and students.

Coordinate marketing campaigns amplified by industry and regional stakeholders.

3) Expand training opportunities by increasing workforce training capacity at University of New Hampshire Biotechnology Innovation Center labs and the Community College System of New Hampshire's Center for Biofabrication and Automated Manufacturing (CCSNH CBAM).

Deliver quality assurance training across Regen Valley Common Campus.

4) Facilitate direct job placement through the Regen Valley Common Campus into the biofabrication industry in Regen Valley.

Expected outcomes: Increased institutional participation in Regen Valley Common Campus with an enhanced catalog of programming and resources.

Synergized, coordinated, and industry-aligned educational options for students.

Newly launched digital talent recruiting and management platform.

Physically expanded and fully staffed training facilities in the University of New Hampshire (UNH) Biotechnology Innovation Center labs and the Community College System of New Hampshire's Center for Biofabrication and Automated Manufacturing (CCSNH CBAM).

Attract 70 high-performing high school students to UNH Millyard Scholars Program.

Quality assurance training for 270 students by year 5.

Almost 1800 other students trained through their partners by year 5.

Regen Valley Common Campus to fill at least 50% of Regen Valley industry position placements by year 5.

Intended beneficiaries: Increase access to training programs, resources, and facilities for current and prospective new entrants in the biofabrication workforce.

Match training and job placement programs to local business' specific needs, improving the caliber of their workforce at all skill levels.

Empower collaboration between local community colleges, research institutions, and training facilities to raise caliber of offerings and synergize workstreams.
