Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Through this Tech Hubs investment, Miami Dade College will convene key stakeholders - such as employers, academic training partners, community organizations, government entities, and workforce development partners - to address the emerging training and workforce needs to support the ClimateReady platform and infrastructure projects.
The project will track participant training outcomes and mitigate barriers to success to ensure participants complete programs and secure job placements.
Activities to be performed:
Establish the sector partnership led by employer partners sharing critical data to inform training providers and guide curriculum design for certifications, career pathways, degrees, and secure commitments for job placements.
The sector partnership will include concrete companies, structural design firms, architecture firms, developers, and create pathways for participants to gain new skills relevant to the disaster resiliency tech sector, including cement/concrete.
Develop new training programs to support new and emerging jobs as a result of the project's employer sector partnership.
Create an outreach and recruitment strategy to enroll participants in tech training programs identified as part of the project's sector partnerships.
Implement training participant tracking and wraparound services to reduce barriers to success.
