Overview
Grant Description
Purpose: The purpose of this grant is to enable Miami-Dade County's effective operations and performance of the Tech Hub across its consortium members, component projects, and efforts to position the hub for long-term financial sustainability.
The project also enables outreach to distressed communities in the Tech Hub's geography.
Activities to be performed: The County will hire staff and stand-up leadership committees.
It will execute foundational consortium documents including memorandums of understanding with consortium members, an action plan, a risk mitigation plan, and a governance operating model.
It will establish performance monitoring systems and a dashboard.
It will conduct outreach to garner community perspective on hub strategy, operations, and decision-making.
It will secure other sources of funding to complement EDA funds.
Expected outcomes: Effective and compliant management of EDA funds, tracking and reporting of Tech Hub progress towards goals, and mitigation of risk to IP, finances, and personnel.
Intended beneficiaries: Tech Hub consortium members will benefit from a formal strategy and operations guidance, enabling them to better understand and implement their individual roles on component projects and harmonize efforts across project activities.
Neighborhood members in the four-county area (Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach counties) will benefit from understanding opportunities available to them made possible by the Tech Hub.
Subrecipient activities: The recipient does not intend to subaward funds.
