Project Grant
Overview
Grant Description
Washington County and the City of Chipley are seeking EDA funding to complete certain infrastructure improvements to the 200-acre Washington County Industrial Park to further support the development of Project Gantry - a new 400,000 square foot manufacturing facility locating in the industrial park.
The proposed project includes engineering design, construction inspection and infrastructure improvements.
The proposed infrastructure improvements are all new facilities to be constructed in the new industrial park.
The project components include extending a 10" water main from the existing 10" water main on the southside of the park and running north to loop into a water main in SR 273 to provide a minimum of 2,000 GPM fire flow in addition to the domestic & industrial needs.
Gravity sewer, primarily 8" diameter, will be installed in the park and requires two sewer lift stations with 6" force mains.
Natural gas will be extended to the park by the City requiring 1,000 LF of 6" gas main and two regulator stations within the park.
Four stormwater ponds will be constructed to provide treatment and attenuation of runoff.
A rail spur will be constructed to serve Project Gantry plus an additional switch and rail spur to serve the remaining park.
Public parking areas will be constructed to support employee and guest parking and truck parking.
Approximately 3,400 LF of streets will be constructed to standards to support heavy truck traffic.
The resilient infrastructure project is projected to create 100 new jobs and secure $45 million in private sector investment.
