Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) - Domestic Production of Advanced Electrolytes for Lithium Ion Batteries (DPAE-LIB).

The objective of this project is to establish domestic production of injectable phase change electrolytes (IPCE) in the energy community of Louisville, Kentucky.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS OFFICE OF MANUFACTURING AND ENERGY SUPPLY CHAINS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT TITLED, “ADVANCED ENERGY MANUFACTURING AND RECYCLING GRANT PROGRAM”, AIMED TO SUPPORT PROJECTS BY A SMALL- OR MEDIUM-SIZED MANUFACTURING FIRM(S) (SMMS) TO ESTABLISH: (1) NEW, OR RE-EQUIP OR EXPAND EXISTING MANUFACTURING OR RECYCLING FACILITY FOR THE PRODUCTION OR RECYCLING, AS APPLICABLE, OF ADVANCED ENERGY PROPERTY, (2A) PROJECTS TO RE-EQUIP AN EXISTING FACILITY WITH EQUIPMENT TO REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) EMISSIONS SUBSTANTIALLY BELOW THE GHG EMISSIONS UNDER CURRENT BEST PRACTICES, AND (2B) NEW, RE-EQUIP, OR EXPAND EXISTING MANUFACTURING OR RECYCLING FACILITIES TO PRODUCE MATERIALS THAT RESULT IN SUBSTANTIALLY LOWER CARBON INTENSITY COMPARED TO AN APPROPRIATE INDUSTRY BENCHMARK. THIS AWARD IS SUPPORTED WITH FUNDS APPROPRIATED BY THE INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT AND JOBS ACT, MORE COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW.
