Overview
Grant Description
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) - Enhancing safety while reducing labor costs in a nationwide retail battery recycling program
This project will accelerate higher consumer battery recycling collection rates by designing and implementing an in-store retail recycling program at no cost to the consumer at Batteries Plus locations in accordance with an optimized national rollout schedule.
Grant funds will support adding new battery sorting workstations (“workstation”) in at least 550 stores in high-traffic urban, suburban, and rural areas across the United States, creating a process to recycle household batteries in a safer and more efficient manner than practices in place today, and raising awareness among consumers about recycling collection points.
