Project Grant

Overview

Grant Description
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) – Virtual Power Plant Enablement

The purpose of this project is to design and implement a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) that improves grid stability and reduces customers’ electricity bills through smart grid technology, data aggregation software, and financial incentives.

The VPP solution will: increase visibility into and ability to leverage small, intermittent energy resources to better manage the grid; incentivize customers to enroll in the VPP programs that reduce electricity bills and electricity rates; and provide a market for third-party aggregators to partner in a transition to a carbon-free grid.
