Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) - Digital Integration for Grid Interconnection Tools, Analysis, and Logic (DIGITAL)
The objective of the digital project is to accelerate the clean energy transition and the required grid investments by reducing the time it takes to review, approve, and commission new generation interconnections across the United States.
The recipient will create a replicable, extensible, and scalable software platform.
Platform expansion will enable real-time integration, multiply stakeholder access, collaboration, and task ownership through the interconnection process.
The recipient will develop and utilize advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) capabilities to ensure efficient grid investment & infrastructure build.

THIS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT (DE-FOA-0003195) SUPPORTS THE GRID RESILIENCE AND INNOVATION PARTNERSHIPS (GRIP) PROGRAM AND SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPREHENSIVE AND REGIONAL RESILIENCE STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS THE INCREASING THREATS TO OUR POWER SYSTEM INFRASTRUCTURE; SPECIFICALLY, TO PREVENT OUTAGES AND ENHANCE THE RESILIENCE OF THE ELECTRIC GRID, DEPLOY TECHNOLOGIES TO ENHANCE GRID FLEXIBILITY, AND DEMONSTRATE INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO POWER SECTOR INFRASTRUCTURE RESILIENCE AND RELIABILITY.
