Overview
Grant Description
The SnoSmart project is an infrastructure and software project meant to improve Snohomish County Public Utility District’s (SNOPUD’s) system reliability, mitigate wildfire risks, and enable demand management.
This project will deploy hundreds of wireless-connected smart grid devices to SNOPUD’s distribution grid and upgrade the software tools to operate them.
By doing so, it will revolutionize system visibility and control for grid operators, further prepare the grid for transportation and building electrification, and enhance SNOPUD’s ability to add distributed energy resources through advanced system planning.
This project will create new job opportunities within SNOPUD.
Successful execution of the project will reduce energy burden for all SNOPUD customers and help prevent wildfire smoke exposure throughout the region.
