THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT IS THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOOLS, METHODS, AND OR TECHNOLOGIES NEEDED TO ADDRESS CRITICAL GAPS IN THE GENERAL UNDERSTANDING OF UNCONVENTIONAL RESERVOIRS AND THEIR RESPONSE TO STIMULATION AND PRODUCTION IN ORDER TO OPTIMIZE UNCONVENTIONAL OIL AND GAS (UOG) DEVELOPMENT AND ENABLE MORE EFFICIENT AND COST-EFFECTIVE UOG RESOURCE RECOVERY; AND CHARACTERIZE EMERGING UOG PLAYS AND DEVELOP AND/OR APPLY TECHNOLOGIES THAT CAN ACCELERATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF EMERGING UOG PLAYS.
