Grant Description
Secure Telecommunications Architecture for Trusted and Resilient Electric Communications STAR TREC
This project will research, develop, test, and demonstrate zero trust architectures for a secure, standards-based, and interoperable private 4G LTE and 5G communications network designed to meet the unique needs of electric power systems.
The developed security architecture will be applied to the use cases of integrating distributed energy resources (DER) and microgrids.
Additional security capabilities include protections related to the requirements of DER command and control.

Funding Goals
PROJECTS UNDER FUNDING OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT DE-FOA-0002500 WILL SUPPORT MULTI-YEAR RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT, AND DEMONSTRATION OF TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES TO REDUCE CYBER RISKS TO ENERGY DELIVERY INFRASTRUCTURE.
