Cooperative Agreement

Overview

Grant Description
This competitive cooperative agreement for a STTR research and development project entitled, “Hybridized High-Q Plasmonic Hydrogen Sensor” is awarded to 2WITECH Solutions LLC under ARPA-E FOA number DE-FOA-0002785 (exploratory topics: H2SENSE) and control number 2785-1645.

The purpose of this award is to meet all the technical performance targets listed from this ARPA-E solicitation including rapid detection of 10 kg/hr emission within an area of 100m by 100m under practical environmental conditions with <20% accuracy error.

The system cost will be <$10K, capable of detecting leak locations with <10m localization error and <1% false positive alarming rate.

We anticipate this new disruptive hydrogen sensing platform will revolutionize the field.
Funding Goals
2WITECH SOLUTIONS PROPOSES TO DEVELOP THE FIRST MOBILE 20 PPB H2 SENSOR. THE SIGNIFICANT PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF GUIDED-MODE-RESONANCE (GMR) FROM DIELECTRIC STRUCTURES AND THE E HYBRIDIZED MODE WITH ULTRA-HIGH-Q AND SELF WITH EXCELLENT DURABILITY AND WEATHER RESILIENCE.

Title
Hybridized high-Q plasmonic hydrogen sensor
Abstract
2Witech Solutions will develop the first mobile 20 parts per billion-level self-cleaning plasmonic hydrogen sensor system, which will improve sensitivity compared with state-of-the-art sensors by one order of magnitude. The system will use a plasmonic metasurface, a surface coating with excellent hydrogen permeation, for trace detection against varied environmental backgrounds.
