DEAR0000848
Cooperative Agreement
Overview
Grant Description
UC Santa Barbara: Under this new Enlitened award, Santa Barbara will develop and demonstrate a technology platform integrating efficient photonic interfaces directly into chip packages to break through the looming communication bottleneck that threatens to limit the performance and energy efficiency of next-generation datacenters and the growth of this key industry in the U.S.
The co-design and packaging of photonics with electronics will enable higher-bandwidth network switches that are much more energy efficient.
Control Number: 1566-1519
