Grant Description
APPLICATION PURPOSE: PURPOSE OF THE AWARD IS TO REPLACE BUSES WHICH HAVE REACHED THE END OF THEIR USEFUL LIFE.; ACTIVITIES PERFORMED: ACTIVITIES INCLUDE PROCUREMENT OF HYBRID ELECTRIC BUSES REPLACEMENT.; EXPECTED OUTCOMES: PROJECT WILL ENSURE BUSES ARE REPLACED IN ACCORDANCE WITH USEFUL LIFE STANDARDS DEFINED IN FTAS CIRCULAR 5010.1F AND WMATAS FLEET MANAGEMENT PLAN. THE TIMELY REPLACEMENT OF BUSES WILL PROVIDE METRO RIDERS WITH SAFE AND RELIABLE TRANSIT SERVICE.; INTENDED BENEFICIARIES: WMATA EMPLOYEES AND WMATA CUSTOMERS WHO COMMUTE WITHIN OR CONNECT TO PUBLIC TRANSIT WITH THE WASHINGTON-ARLINGTON DC-VA-MD UZA.; SUBRECIPIENT ACTIVITIES: NONE
Funding Goals
THE LOW-NO PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OR LEASE OF ZERO-EMISSION AND LOW-EMISSION TRANSIT BUSES INCLUDING ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND LEASING OF REQUIRED SUPPORTING FACILITIES SUCH AS RECHARGING REFUELING AND MAINTENANCE FACILITIES.
