Grant Description
Purpose: CDOT selected 2020 5339 (a) Rolling Stock projects in Colorado rural areas totaling $3,665,936 (FTA amount) and is applying for the following funds in this application:
FFY 2019 - $149,650 (remaining FFY 2019 apportionment)
FFY 2020 - $3,500,000 (full FFY 2020 apportionment)
FFY 2021 - $16,286 (partial FFY 2021 apportionment)
Total: $3,665,936
Activities to be performed: The grant includes the purchase of eight replacement ADA compliant transit buses, including one electric bus, and charging equipment for electric vehicle charging. All at an 80/20 federal/local share.
Expected outcomes: Replace vehicles that have met their useful lives and diversify transit vehicle fueling for rural Colorado communities. The selected projects will support the continuation and state of good repair of public transportation services in Colorado. The battery electric bus and charger project will further the transition to sustainable public transport in the state.
Intended beneficiaries: Transit riders in Eagle County, Summit County, and Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) service area.
Subrecipient activities: Eagle County Transit, RFTA, and Summit Stage Transit.
This grant uses pre-award authority for contracting purposes, but no expenses have been incurred yet.
