South Central Regional Medical Center was founded in 1952 and is currently a 285-bed, public not-for-profit county-owned hospital located in Laurel, MS.
The hospital primarily serves a four-county area: Jones County, Jasper County, Wayne County and Smith County.
The primary focus of the South Central Regional Medical Center is to provide excellent healthcare services to the residents of South Central Mississippi and to improve the quality of life in the region.
With more than 80 physicians on staff representing 28 medical specialties, South Central continues to meet the healthcare needs of a growing region.
With over 2,100 employees throughout the health system, the highly skilled healthcare professionals work with cutting-edge technologies and offer the most modern diagnostic and treatment options.
This mission and vision can only be achieved through continued modernization of facilities and replacement of aged moveable equipment.
These endeavors ensure patients have a quality experience and physicians and providers have access to the most technologically advanced tools and treatments, which result in optimal patient outcomes and experiences.
Goals of the project include:
• Acquisition of new or updated moveable equipment including:
O Ambulances for the SCRMC ambulance service line (EMSERV)
O IV poles & pumps for the inpatient units and emergency department
O Stryker Lifepak cardiac monitors for the SCRMC ambulance service (EMSERV)
O Hospital bed replacement for inpatient nursing unit
• Facilities modernization including:
O Replacement of hospital air handling units in multiple locations within the main hospital
O Hospital-wide IT technology hardware and software upgrades
O Nurse call system for the ComfortCare Nursing Center
O Bathroom tile renovation for ComfortCare Nursing Center
O Intrusion alarm system upgrade for the SCRMC main campus
O CCTV equipment for the SCRMC main campus
O Boiler replacements
O Loading dock replacement
O Interconnection of generators
