Grant Description
Community project funding/Congressionally directed spending - Construction - Project 1: Purchase of moveable equipment, 400 Hospital Road, Starkville, MS – The purchase of the CERNER electronic health record system will provide a unified health records system for the hospital for use by all key hospital staff and replace the disparate legacy system with a market-leading system.
The purchase of the CERNER electronic health record system also includes a 10-year subscription agreement to run the system.
The purchase of the STRYKER endoscopy units would replace the current systems that are in each room that are utilized by the surgeons on a daily basis.
The current equipment is at the end of its life.
The upgraded units will provide all surgeons the same new technology and video platform to work from.
Project 2: Purchase of moveable equipment, 102 Doctors Park, Starkville, MS – The purchase of a GE 3D Pristina mammography unit will replace the current unit at the end of its life with 2D technology with an upgraded 3D unit.
The equipment will be used to provide higher quality service and reduce the imaging backlog.
The purchase of the GE 3D Pristina mammography unit includes a 5-year CAD subscription and will be able to serve all patients requiring mammograms.
Project 3: MRI upgrade, 400 Hospital Road, Starkville, MS – The purchase of equipment and construction of an upgrade of the MRI technology from TITAN 1.5 to ORIAN 1.5 will replace technology currently requiring helium-dependent cooling with the latest technology not requiring this diminishing resource and it will also improve patient imaging.
The purchase of equipment and construction of the upgraded MRI technology includes a 6-year maintenance agreement and will be able to serve all patients requiring MRIs.
Project 4: Aquilion Prime SP CT V10, 400 Hospital Road, Starkville, MS – The purchase of Aquilion Prime SP CT V10 equipment and construction of an upgrade to the CT scans provided by the hospital will replace the current equipment and technology that is at the end of its life and will no longer have parts available.
In order to prevent the loss of this service line, the equipment and related technology will need to be replaced.
The purchase of the equipment and construction of the upgraded CT scan technology includes a 6-year maintenance agreement and will be able to serve all patients requiring CT scans.
Project 5: OR equipment, 400 Hospital Road, Starkville, MS – The purchase and construction of operating room lights, monitors, suspension arms, and booms will replace the current equipment that, due to its age, no longer has parts available for repair.
The purchase and construction can help to avoid significant downtime if the current equipment is not working properly.
This project would replace the current equipment in 5 rooms and would be able to serve all surgeons and patients using each of the operating rooms.
