Grant Description
Application purpose: This request is to allocate $39,822,803 in FY23 5309 supplemental capital investment funds to BART's core capacity project.
These funds will be used to supplant local BART funds;
Activities performed: This project aims to upgrade BART's system and rolling stock to accommodate increased system capacity including design and construction of the Transbay Corridor core capacity project;
Expected outcomes: Prove safe and reliable transit to the San Francisco Bay Area region and increased service and transit capacity in the San Francisco Transbay Corridor;
Intended beneficiaries: BART serves the public in and around the San Francisco Bay Area;
Subrecipient activities: None.

Funding Goals
FUND SUBSTANTIAL CORRIDOR-BASED INVESTMENT IN EXISTING FIXED GUIDEWAY SYSTEMS WHERE THE PROJECT IS LOCATED INA CORRIDOR THAT IS AT OR OVER CAPACITY OR WILL BE IN TENYEARS AND WILL INCREASE CAPACITY BY 10% AND DOES NOT INCLUDE PROJECT ELEMENTS DESIGNATED TO MAINTAIN A STATE OF GOOD REPAIR.
