Grant Description
Application Purpose: To purchase approximately 16 new low floor light rail vehicles; replacing 16 high floor light rail vehicles that have reached the end of their useful life.

Activities performed: Funds will cover cost of manufacturing new light rail vehicles spare parts special tools force account labor and third party contract for miscellaneous equipment.

Expected outcomes: Replacement of the light rail vehicles will improve boarding alighting accessibility, improve operational safety system efficiency, and improve passenger experience.

Intended beneficiaries: Sacramento area transit commuters including the elderly disabled riders with bikes, strollers, and/or luggage; and employees.
