Grant Description
Application Purpose: The project will be used by ASUCD-Unitrans (which is a unit of the University of California Davis and sub-recipient to the City of Davis providing transit service for the City of Davis and UC Davis) and by the City of Davis (for paratransit service).
Activities Performed: Funds from this award will be used by ASUCD-Unitrans (sub-recipient) to purchase electric buses to replace CNG buses that have surpassed their useful lives.
Expected Outcomes: Expected outcomes include continuity of fixed route transit service, improved system reliability, improved efficiency, reduced operating and maintenance costs, and compliance with electric conversion regulations.
Intended Beneficiaries: Intended beneficiaries include residents and visitors to the City of Davis, the University of California-Davis, and transit customers who will benefit from continued service that is reliable and more sustainable.
Subrecipient Activities: All activities will be undertaken by the city's sub-recipient, the Regents of the University of California-Davis, through its operating unit ASUCD-Unitrans.
