Grant Description
Application Purpose: The purpose is to provide funding for two projects: (1) Rolling Stock Procurement and (2) Workforce Development.

The procurement of six (6) zero-emission battery electric buses (BEBS) related transit equipment and electric vehicle charging stations. The new ZEBs will replace six unleaded and diesel revenue service buses in Vine Transit fleet that are beyond the end of their useful lives. The new buses will be placed on routes that serve the region and connect to other transit services in the Greater Bay Area. Additionally, the proposed project devotes 5% of the funding to workforce development, creating additional jobs with greater responsibility.

Activities Performed: NVTA will procure six (6) zero-emission battery electric buses to replace six (6) diesel and gasoline buses that have outlived their useful lives. The project dedicates 5% for workforce development opportunities.

Expected Outcomes: Fleet electrification is critical for NVTA to meet its 2040 vision of a zero-emission fleet in order to reduce overall energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.

Intended Beneficiaries: Napa County communities - City of American Canyon, Napa, St. Helena, Calistoga, the Town of Yountville, the County of Napa, residents, businesses, and visitors to the region.

Funding Goals
THE LOW OR NO EMISSION COMPETITIVE PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE PURCHASE OR LEASE OF ZERO-EMISSION AND LOW-EMISSION TRANSIT BUSES AS WELL AS ACQUISITION CONSTRUCTION AND LEASING OF REQUIRED SUPPORTING FACILITIES.
