Grant Description
Application Purpose: This funding is for the construction of Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization Project Phase 5 (DMB5).
Bluff Stabilization Improvements include:
1. Proposed trackbed stabilization improvements
2. Trackbed support retrofit improvements
3. Drainage improvements
Activities performed: These grant funds will be used for project administration, construction management, and construction.
Expected outcomes: The objective of this project is to design and construct track bed stabilization and seismic improvements along the eroding bluffs that will enhance safety and maintain rail service along the LOSSAN rail corridor.
Intended beneficiaries: The coastal bluffs in the city of Del Mar are an integral part of the 351-mile Los Angeles San Diego San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) rail corridor, which is a vital link for passenger and freight movements within San Diego County as well as between San Diego, Los Angeles, and points farther north.
Subrecipient activities: SANDAG does not intend to subaward funds.
