Grant Description
This grant applies for FFY 2021 Section 5307-9 ARP Act funds apportioned to the Sacramento UZA in the amount of $106,679,367.
Purpose:
Funds provide Sacramento Regional Transit:
A) Operating assistance for the period July 22-June 24
B) Bus preventive maintenance for the period July 22-June 24
C) Rail preventive maintenance for the period July 22-June 24
D) ADA operations for the period July 22-June 24; to assist in recovering from COVID-19 during this period.
Funds provide subrecipient paratransit operating assistance to assist in recovering from COVID-19 during FY 2023.
Funds provide subrecipient El Dorado Transit operating assistance to assist in recovering from COVID-19 during FY 2024 to FY 2029.
Activities to be performed:
Funds will cover:
A) Operating expenses such as salaries, fuel, utilities, other supplies and services, and items having a useful life of less than one year
B) Bus and rail maintenance costs such as salaries, parts, supplies, services, and other items having a useful life of less than one year
C) ADA operations costs such as salaries, fuel, supplies, services, and other items having a useful life of less than one year.
Expected outcomes:
Enables SACRT and subrecipients paratransit and El Dorado Transit to continue to provide safe and effective transit service that otherwise would be reduced due to lack of funds while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
Intended beneficiaries:
Riders in the Sacramento region who depend on public transit to get to work and other essential destinations benefit from continued service, as well as transit agencies in the Sacramento region.
Subrecipients:
Subrecipients paratransit and El Dorado Transit receive operating assistance funding to sustain operations while continuing to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The recipient agrees that if it receives federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or through a pass-through entity through the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, a different federal agency, or insurance proceeds for any portion of a project activity approved for FTA funding under this grant agreement, it will provide written notification to FTA and reimburse FTA for any federal share that duplicates funding provided by FEMA, another federal agency, or an insurance company.
